Christmas is a special day for celebration and to make this day extremely special it is very important to decorate the home and Christmas trees etc. Christmas decorations began from the 16th century. During those days honey cakes, sugar rods, and other Christmas candies, were used for Christmas decorations. Also glazed paper and coloured papers were used to wrap the candies, nuts, cakes, raisins, and fruits. You can also have various themes for decoration. The themes may be jingle bell theme, foodie theme etc. Also if you are organizing a party then your party theme and decoration theme can make an awesome combination. Always keep in mind that if you are keeping the decoration theme based then wrap the gifts also according to that theme.

Here are some decoration ideas:
1. You should start decorating it right from the entrance gate. You can use garlands and a Christmas star on the entry.
2. Hang decorations in windows. For that you can use Christmas balls and different birds made out with coloured papers etc. Also you can hang twinkling lights.
3. Floating Candles can be used on the centre tables and on the dining tables as your chosen themes.
4. Christmas Balls are very useful for decorating the Christmas trees and also a beautiful bowl can be filled with these different coloured balls and some other decorating items as per your theme.
5. Christmas tree is main attraction so while decorating your tree keep your theme in mind. Cluster the ornaments like Christmas balls etc. Use all type of glittering ornaments o make your tree attractive. Add a tree topper as per your theme. Wrap the candies, nuts, cakes, raisins, and fruits in beautiful sparkling wrapper and hang it on the Christmas tree.
6. Red and Green are very common on this occasion so if you want to go for a change then you can go with purple, sky blue or a mixture of crème with sky blue.
7. Wrap your gifts beautifully matching with your décor. Suppose you are using a Sky blue and cream colour theme then wrap your gifts in cream colour wrapping paper and then add a ribbon of sky blue colour.
8. Go for mix and match in crockeries and in spite of soup bowls use the mugs. Also try to keep yourself free so that you can greet and welcome guests. And to avoid food wastages let guests serve themselves.
